R.I.P. Swedish House Mafia!! They Are Calling It Quits

swedish house

Swedish super group comprised of Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello announced today that they will now longer be touring together after the completion of their current tour. While this comes as a shock to us, the trio will undoubtedly have continued success in their individual endeavors. I feel blessed to have seen Swedish House Mafia perform a few times, and hopefully you all have been lucky enough to see them as well.

That’s all folks! The curtain will soon close on the prolific trio known as Swedish House Mafia. Today Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso took to the web to announce via their websitethat their current tour will be their last. Currently the last announced date is at the Friends Arena in Sweden November 24, but the site also promises an imminent news in August regarding additional parts of the tour.

Are we certain that the end is final? Perhaps not, but likely the individual members wanted to focus on their various individual projects, ranging from culturing young talent to leading successful labels. In the meantime cherish the memories that the Swedes have brought to the dance music world and perhaps take a peek at their documentary from Miami circa 2010.
